We are looking for a G/L Accountant to join a team in Bellevue, Washington on a contract basis. This role is ideal for an accounting specialist who can step in quickly, manage day-to-day general ledger activity, and support accurate financial reporting across multiple properties. The position works closely with operational teams and accounting leadership to maintain strong controls, complete reconciliations, and ensure timely month-end and year-end activities.
Responsibilities:
- Manage daily general ledger accounting tasks and record financial activity with accuracy and consistency.
- Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations, investigating discrepancies and resolving outstanding items promptly.
- Support the creation of financial statements by maintaining complete and reliable accounting records.
- Partner with teams at multiple property locations to review transactions, clarify financial details, and keep reporting aligned.
- Monitor revenue-related entries and transactional activity to help ensure proper accounting treatment.
- Assist with month-end and year-end close processes, keeping schedules current and meeting reporting deadlines.
- Contribute to account reconciliation assignments as directed and provide clear documentation for review.
- Use accounting software effectively to maintain records, analyze data, and support ongoing reporting needs.
- Help support accounting activities tied to separate systems or process updates when needed as part of ongoing operations.
- At least 3 years of accounting experience with a strong foundation in general ledger work.
- Demonstrated experience completing account and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Solid understanding of core accounting principles and financial statement preparation.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to review transactions and identify inconsistencies.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work with teams across multiple locations.
- Proven ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and contribute quickly in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with accounting systems and standard financial reporting tools.
