We are looking for a detail-oriented Logistics Clerk to support daily shipping, receiving, and inventory coordination activities in California. This contract position offers the potential to become permanent and is ideal for someone with hands-on logistics experience who can keep materials moving accurately and efficiently while maintaining strong documentation and communication. The role requires a dependable team member who can work across warehouse and administrative tasks to help ensure timely order processing and secure handling of goods.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate incoming and outgoing shipments by preparing paperwork, confirming quantities, and tracking delivery status.
- Receive materials, inspect items against shipping documents, and report any shortages, damages, or discrepancies.
- Maintain accurate logistics records, including shipment details, inventory updates, and receiving documentation.
- Communicate with carriers, warehouse staff, and internal teams to resolve delivery issues and support smooth transportation flow.
- Assist with organizing stock movement and staging materials to support efficient shipping and receiving operations.
- Follow established procedures for secure handling of goods and help maintain a safe, controlled work environment.
- Support day-to-day logistics administration, including data entry, filing, and status updates for orders and shipments.
- At least 1 year of experience in logistics, shipping and receiving, or a related operational support role.
- Working knowledge of shipment processing, receiving procedures, and general logistics workflows.
- Ability to review documents carefully and maintain accurate records with strong attention to detail.
- Comfortable coordinating multiple tasks in a fast-paced warehouse or distribution environment.
- Effective communication skills for working with carriers, coworkers, and internal departments.
- Basic computer skills for data entry, tracking shipments, and managing logistics documentation.
- Understanding of secure material handling practices and workplace safety expectations.
