Responsibilities:
- Process a large volume of accounts payable transactions with careful attention to accuracy, approvals, and deadlines.
- Review and maintain vendor documentation, including W-9 records and 1099 reporting requirements, to support year-end compliance.
- Assign invoices to the correct general ledger accounts, entities, and properties to ensure proper financial tracking.
- Prepare and complete bank, credit card, and cash reconciliations, investigating discrepancies and resolving issues promptly.
- Assist with wire activity and related accounting entries while maintaining organized supporting documentation.
- Record journal entries and support ongoing general ledger maintenance to keep financial records current and accurate.
- Analyze accounting data in spreadsheets, using tools such as pivot tables to manage larger data sets and identify exceptions.
- Support tax-related accounting activities, including coordination for corporate tax and sales tax reporting as needed.
- At least 3 years of accounting experience in a staff accountant or similar role.
- Hands-on experience handling high-volume accounts payable in a complex, multi-entity environment.
- Working knowledge of 1099 processing, W-9 administration, and invoice coding across general ledger structures.
- Proficiency with QuickBooks Online and intermediate Excel skills, including pivot tables and working with large data sets.
- Experience preparing journal entries and maintaining general ledger accuracy.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
- Background in a family office or real estate environment is preferred.
- Familiarity with corporate tax, sales tax, and related accounting support functions is a plus.
