Responsibilities:
- Lead the preparation, review, and revision of a broad range of commercial agreements to align legal terms with business objectives.
- Manage contract negotiations with customers, vendors, and strategic partners to secure balanced and commercially sound outcomes.
- Provide day-to-day legal counsel on corporate law matters, helping business teams address risk, compliance, and operational considerations.
- Translate complex legal concepts into clear recommendations that support informed decision-making across the organization.
- Partner with internal stakeholders to identify contractual exposures and recommend practical solutions before issues escalate.
- Maintain consistency in contract language, legal standards, and documentation practices across various business arrangements.
- Support licensing-related legal matters and ensure agreements reflect applicable regulatory and corporate requirements.
- Licensed attorney with the authorization to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
- 10+ years of legal experience, including substantial in-house or commercial contracting responsibility.
- Demonstrated success drafting, reviewing, and negotiating complex commercial contracts.
- Strong working knowledge of corporate law and its application within a business setting.
- Ability to assess legal risk quickly and provide practical, business-focused advice.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Background supporting contract-heavy environments, ideally within food, manufacturing, or related industries.
