We are looking for an experienced Project Manager/Senior Consultant to lead technology initiatives within the energy and natural resources sector. This long-term contract opportunity is ideal for someone who is detail oriented and can guide projects from planning through execution while promoting Agile delivery practices and strong stakeholder alignment. The role requires a strategic mindset, hands-on project leadership, and the ability to keep cross-functional teams focused on timelines, priorities, and measurable outcomes.
Responsibilities:
- Lead IT-focused projects from initiation through completion, ensuring scope, schedule, budget, and quality expectations are effectively managed.
- Facilitate Agile Scrum ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives, to support consistent team delivery.
- Partner with business leaders, technical teams, and external stakeholders to define objectives, track progress, and address project risks early.
- Build and maintain detailed project plans, status reports, and delivery roadmaps using structured project management practices.
- Use Atlassian Jira to organize work, monitor sprint activity, manage backlogs, and provide visibility into project performance.
- Drive issue resolution by identifying blockers, coordinating action plans, and escalating concerns when needed to protect timelines.
- Support project governance by documenting decisions, maintaining clear communication, and ensuring alignment with organizational priorities.
- Oversee changes to project scope or delivery approach while helping teams adapt to evolving business and technology needs.
- Demonstrated experience leading IT project management efforts in complex business environments.
- Strong working knowledge of Agile Scrum methodologies and experience guiding teams through iterative delivery cycles.
- PMP certification or a comparable project management credential.
- Proficiency with Atlassian Jira for tracking tasks, managing backlogs, and reporting project status.
- Proven ability to coordinate cross-functional teams and communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Solid understanding of project planning, risk management, dependency tracking, and resource coordination.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to deadlines, quality, and business objectives.
