We are looking for a personable and dependable Engagement Coordinator to support a short-term school outreach effort in Newark, New Jersey. This Contract position is ideal for someone who enjoys meeting new people, working independently in the field, and helping expand community awareness of an educational program. The assignment will involve visiting local businesses, introducing the school’s initiative in a clear and thoughtful manner, and distributing approved informational materials throughout the area.
Responsibilities:
- Travel to assigned locations across Newark, New Jersey to conduct in-person outreach on behalf of the school.
- Share flyers and other approved materials with local businesses, offices, and community establishments.
- Start conversations with business owners, managers, and staff in a courteous and thoughtful way to explain the outreach initiative.
- Ask for approval to post or leave promotional information at participating locations.
- Use provided talking points to deliver consistent and accurate messaging about the school.
- Follow designated outreach routes and keep records or updates on completed visits and activity progress.
- Serve as a positive representative of the school while maintaining a capable and thoughtful presence.
- Move between multiple sites during the day and manage assigned stops with minimal supervision.
- At least 2 years of experience in customer service, sales, marketing, outreach, or a related public-facing role.
- Valid driver’s license and dependable personal transportation for travel between locations.
- Strong verbal communication skills and confidence when engaging with new people.
- Ability to work independently, stay organized, and manage daily assignments effectively.
- Detail-oriented, approachable, and outgoing manner in community-facing interactions.
- Comfortable walking, traveling locally, and remaining active throughout the workday.
- Availability to work the full Monday through Friday contract assignment.
