Responsibilities:

  • Lead recurring close activities by preparing and reviewing journal entries, accruals, reclassifications, and allocation entries while ensuring supporting balance sheet reconciliations are completed accurately.
  • Oversee payroll-related accounting, including bi-weekly payroll postings, month-end payroll accruals, benefit and insurance expense recognition, and reconciliation of payroll-related cash activity.
  • Work closely with Human Resources to research discrepancies in payroll results and resolve variances through timely investigation and documentation.
  • Collaborate with internal business partners and outside contacts to collect support for expense accruals and ensure financial data is recorded within reporting deadlines.
  • Prepare monthly income statement reviews for assigned accounts, explain fluctuations versus expectations, and identify issues that require corrective action.
  • Monitor corporate spending throughout the month to confirm expenses are coded to the appropriate departments and cost centers.
  • Perform detailed analyses for areas such as employee benefits, workers’ compensation, and technology-related spending to support accurate general ledger reporting.
  • Record equity transactions, including share issuances and repurchases, coordinate with relevant stakeholders, and reconcile equity activity to supporting statements.
  • Review bank reconciliations for multiple accounts and verify that cash receipts and disbursements are reflected correctly in the accounting records.
  • Assist with audit requests and compliance documentation while following internal controls, company policies, and other assigned accounting initiatives.
