We are looking for a detail-oriented Dispatcher to support daily delivery activity. This contract opportunity is ideal for someone who can keep transportation operations organized, communicate clearly with drivers and internal teams, and respond quickly when priorities shift. The person in this role will help maintain smooth route execution, accurate documentation, and reliable service in a fast-paced logistics setting.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee day-to-day dispatch activity by coordinating delivery schedules and helping routes stay on track throughout each shift.
- Support drivers at departure and return by completing check-in and check-out processes and confirming required information is recorded accurately.
- Track route progress in real time, identify service or timing issues, and take action to reduce delays and delivery disruptions.
- Address driver questions, customer-related concerns, and compliance matters with urgency while escalating complex issues when needed.
- Review operational paperwork and delivery records to ensure accuracy, completeness, and adherence to company standards.
- Prepare routine reports that summarize route activity, service performance, and operational trends for leadership review.
- Communicate with cross-functional teams to keep loadout, dispatch, and delivery activity aligned with daily business needs.
- Assist with virtual training and onboarding coordination to help new team members understand dispatch procedures and expectations.
- Previous experience in dispatch, transportation, delivery coordination, or a related logistics environment is preferred.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with drivers, customers, and internal teams.
- Comfortable using computer systems and dispatch-related tools to monitor activity, enter data, and maintain records.
- Ability to stay organized and make sound decisions in a high-volume, time-sensitive work environment.
- Customer service experience, including handling calls and resolving issues effectively, is highly valued.
- Knowledge of logistics coordination and route support processes is helpful for success in this role.
- Spanish language skills are a plus but not required.
