The ideal candidate brings strong accounting fundamentals, works well in a manufacturing environment, and can partner effectively with internal teams to keep financial processes organized and compliant.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee day-to-day accounts payable tasks by validating invoice support, assigning proper coding, securing approvals, addressing exceptions, and assisting with timely disbursements.
- Handle accounts receivable processing by issuing invoices, posting incoming payments, monitoring customer balances, and following up on past-due or disputed items.
- Record credit memos and RMA-related entries after confirming required documentation and authorization are in place.
- Apply customer cash receipts accurately, research unmatched payments, and resolve variances affecting account balances.
- Prepare daily cash reporting, assist with online banking activity, and reconcile bank transactions, checks, and related cash movements.
- Maintain inventory records and summaries, compare accounting data to operational records, and work with production teams to investigate differences.
- Support the three-day month-end close by completing assigned tasks, preparing journal entries, updating schedules, and communicating open issues promptly.
- Reconcile general ledger and balance sheet accounts, review outstanding items, and escalate unresolved discrepancies when needed.
- Maintain fixed asset activity schedules, including additions, transfers, retirements, and depreciation, and ensure balances align with the general ledger.
- Assist with audits, compliance reporting, accounting process improvements, and routine troubleshooting of accounting data or system-related issues while helping guide assigned accounting staff under the Controller’s direction.
- Experience preparing journal entries and supporting accurate general ledger activity.
- Hands-on knowledge of month-end close processes in a deadline-driven accounting environment.
- Ability to perform balance sheet reconciliations, investigate variances, and resolve reconciling items.
- Background in accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash application, and bank reconciliation activities.
- Familiarity with inventory accounting and cost-related analysis within a manufacturing setting.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain organized financial records and supporting documentation.
- Effective communication skills for working with internal departments, auditors, and finance leadership.
- Proficiency using accounting systems and spreadsheets to manage data, reporting, and account analysis.
