We are looking for a Credit Analyst to support accounts receivable and commercial credit activities for a transport organization in Glen Allen, Virginia. This Long-term Contract position focuses on resolving account questions, reviewing payment activity, and coordinating with internal teams to keep collection efforts moving efficiently. The role is well suited to someone who can balance analytical work with day-to-day follow-up while maintaining accuracy and strong business communication.
Responsibilities:
- Manage inquiries received through a shared team mailbox and provide timely, accurate responses to internal and external stakeholders.
- Review customer accounts to identify payment discrepancies, overdue balances, and items requiring further investigation.
- Research unapplied and unallocated cash transactions and work to ensure payments are matched and posted correctly.
- Perform routine accounts receivable and administrative activities that support daily credit and collection operations.
- Partner with Finance, Customer Service, Sales, and Operations teams to resolve account issues and improve collection outcomes.
- Evaluate account details and payment patterns to support commercial credit analysis and informed decision-making.
- Follow up on outstanding balances and help advance commercial collections efforts in an organized and thorough manner.
- Experience in credit analysis within an accounts receivable or commercial credit environment.
- Working knowledge of commercial collections processes and customer account resolution.
- Ability to investigate payment issues, reconcile account activity, and resolve unapplied cash items.
- Familiarity with reviewing credit applications and supporting credit-related decisions.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across Finance, Sales, Customer Service, and Operations.
- High attention to detail and the ability to manage recurring tasks with accuracy and consistency.
- Proficiency in handling multiple priorities in a fast-paced, team-oriented setting.
