We are looking for a detail-oriented Billing Specialist to join a team in Pontiac, Michigan on a Contract basis with the potential for permanent after 6 months. This role is well suited for someone with early-career experience in billing, accounts receivable, or general accounting who enjoys keeping records accurate and resolving issues quickly. You will work closely with a small group of account representatives to prepare customer invoices, review supporting information, and help ensure completed work is billed correctly and on time. Responsibilities: • Manage billing activities for a designated group of account representatives and their customer accounts. • Review work documentation to confirm invoice details are complete, accurate, and ready for processing. • Investigate missing information and follow up with internal contacts to obtain required billing support. • Resolve billing discrepancies by comparing records, identifying inconsistencies, and correcting invoice data. • Prepare and issue customer billing statements in a timely manner for completed services or work performed. • Maintain organized billing records within computerized systems and update account information as needed. • Coordinate with internal teams to address questions related to charges, billing status, and account activity. • Support accurate accounts receivable processes by helping ensure invoices align with approved documentation.
- 1-2 years of experience in billing, accounts receivable, accounting, or a related office support function.
- Working knowledge of billing processes, invoice preparation, and statement review.
- Ability to identify errors, reconcile discrepancies, and maintain a high level of accuracy.
- Experience using computerized billing or accounting systems in a business setting.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple accounts and deadlines.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills for coordinating with internal teams.
- Proficiency with standard business software and comfort learning new platforms quickly.
