This Long-term Contract position is ideal for a hands-on, detail-oriented individual who can design, build, and resolve complex integrations between Workday and connected business systems while applying strong software engineering and architecture principles. The role focuses on dependable, secure, and well-monitored integrations that preserve system-of-record controls and support scalable automation across the organization.
Responsibilities:
- Create and deliver robust integrations between Workday and enterprise applications using APIs, web services, and workflow automation tools.
- Investigate and resolve integration failures by reviewing request and response data, business process behavior, and cross-system data dependencies.
- Develop interface logic that emphasizes data validation, predictable processing, and controlled write-back to connected platforms.
- Implement secure connectivity patterns, authentication methods, and audit-ready logging to strengthen reliability and compliance.
- Collaborate with technical teams to support orchestration solutions using platforms such as Power Automate and other automation technologies.
- Analyze Workday data structures, object relationships, and process rules to ensure integrations align with business and technical requirements.
- Establish error-handling, retry, and monitoring strategies that improve observability and reduce disruption to downstream operations.
- Support integration design decisions that respect system boundaries, ensuring external tools coordinate processes without bypassing Workday controls.
- At least 4 years of hands-on experience building and supporting Workday integrations in an enterprise environment.
- Strong knowledge of Workday APIs, web services, data structures, and business process-driven transaction behavior.
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot integration issues at the raw request and response level without relying solely on abstraction tools.
- Solid understanding of XML technologies, schema validation, authentication methods, and secure integration design.
- Experience applying software engineering principles to integration development, including resiliency, traceability, and deterministic execution.
- Familiarity with orchestration and automation platforms such as Microsoft Power Automate and related enterprise workflow tools.
- Ability to work effectively with engineering and business stakeholders to translate integration needs into reliable technical solutions.
