Original job description

We are looking for an Associate Developer to join a contract opportunity with the potential to become permanent in St Pete, Florida. This role blends application development with software quality efforts, giving you the chance to support reliable product delivery while building hands-on experience across coding, testing, and Agile collaboration. You will work closely with engineering, quality, and operations partners to identify issues early, strengthen automated test coverage, and contribute to continuous improvement throughout the development lifecycle.

Responsibilities:

  • Create and enhance automated test scripts using Playwright to improve coverage and support dependable releases.
  • Partner with developers, QA professionals, and DevOps teammates to uncover defects early and drive timely resolution.
  • Perform both manual and automated validation during sprint cycles, including functional and regression testing activities.
  • Investigate reported issues by reproducing defects, analyzing root causes, and recording clear findings for the team.
  • Maintain thorough testing documentation, including test scenarios, execution outcomes, bug details, and reproduction steps.
  • Contribute to Agile team routines such as sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and other delivery-focused meetings.
  • Use AI-assisted tools such as Claude Code to help generate test cases and increase testing efficiency.
  • Support the team's shift toward stronger automated testing practices and test-driven development approaches.
  • Assist with software fixes and development tasks as technical skills expand over time.
  • 0–3 years of experience in software development, quality assurance, or a combination of both.
  • Working knowledge of JavaScript, TypeScript, C#, .NET, or another object-oriented programming language.
  • Exposure to test automation frameworks such as Playwright, Selenium, or similar tools, or experience with manual software testing.
  • Familiarity with software development lifecycle concepts and Agile delivery methods.
  • Strong debugging, analytical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Clear communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional technical teams.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
