We are looking for an experienced Sr. Accountant to support core accounting operations in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. This position plays a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, guiding the monthly close process, and ensuring compliance with applicable accounting standards. The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to manage reconciliations, reporting, and regulatory requirements in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the monthly financial close process, ensuring deadlines are met and account activity is recorded accurately.
- Prepare and post journal entries while maintaining the integrity of the general ledger across multiple reporting areas.
- Perform detailed reconciliations for balance sheet accounts and investigate variances to resolve discrepancies promptly.
- Complete bank reconciliations and verify cash activity to support reliable financial reporting.
- Apply revenue recognition guidance under ASC 606 to ensure transactions are accounted for in accordance with current standards.
- Manage lease accounting activities under ASC 842, including review of schedules, entries, and ongoing compliance.
- Support accounting analysis related to credit loss standards and help maintain appropriate documentation for financial reporting.
- Assist with preparation of Form 990 and related tax reporting requirements for accurate and timely filing.
- At least 5 years of progressive accounting experience in a senior-level or closely related role.
- Strong background in month-end close, general ledger management, and journal entry preparation.
- Proven experience with account reconciliations and bank reconciliations in a complex accounting environment.
- Working knowledge of ASC 606 and ASC 842 with the ability to apply technical guidance in practice.
- Experience supporting tax reporting, including preparation or review of Form 990.
- Current CPA license is required.
- High level of accuracy, organization, and analytical ability when handling financial data.
