We are looking for an experienced SAP Manager to lead ERP integration efforts and guide a high-performing team in West Des Moines, Iowa. This role combines people leadership with deep techno-functional SAP expertise, supporting business priorities through thoughtful planning, cross-functional collaboration, and strong operational oversight. The ideal candidate brings a strategic mindset, hands-on knowledge of SAP S/4HANA and ECC environments, and a solid background in manufacturing or distribution settings.
Responsibilities:
- Lead, coach, and expand an SAP team by driving hiring efforts, onboarding new talent, and supporting ongoing employee growth and performance.
- Shape the SAP roadmap by aligning technical capabilities with business goals and recommending practical, forward-looking solutions.
- Oversee team capacity, spending, and priorities to ensure resources are used effectively and key initiatives stay on track.
- Provide techno-functional leadership across SAP environments, with particular emphasis on Record-to-Report processes and S/4HANA capabilities.
- Partner with business stakeholders to run discovery sessions, define needs, and translate operational objectives into clear solution designs.
- Direct system configuration activities and guide the creation of functional specifications that support development and implementation work.
- Facilitate workshops and produce business blueprint documentation to establish scalable, well-defined process improvements.
- Support integrated ERP initiatives within a manufacturing or distribution environment, including product configuration and related cross-module processes.
- Collaborate across finance and operational teams on solutions involving additional SAP areas such as FI or CO, ensuring cohesive process alignment.
- Contribute to post-migration optimization activities in S/4HANA by identifying enhancements, resolving process gaps, and improving system effectiveness.
- At least 5 years of experience in a people leadership role with direct responsibility for performance management, goal setting, staffing, and team development.
- Proven success managing budgets, expenses, and resource allocation within an SAP or ERP-focused function.
- Strong techno-functional expertise in SAP, including hands-on experience with SAP S/4HANA and SAP ECC.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Record-to-Report processes and their supporting SAP configurations.
- Background in manufacturing and/or distribution, with a solid understanding of product configuration processes.
- Experience working with system configuration, writing functional specifications, leading workshops, and preparing business blueprint documentation.
- Familiarity with at least one additional SAP module, with FI or CO experience strongly preferred.
- Strategic problem-solving skills with the ability to balance long-term planning and day-to-day execution.
