- Reconcile accounts payable activity across systems and investigate discrepancies to maintain complete and accurate records.
- Assist with monthly close for an assigned property portfolio by preparing bank reconciliations, reviewing ledger activity, and posting recurring journal entries.
- Maintain supporting schedules and reconciliation workpapers in Excel to ensure accurate reporting and audit-ready documentation.
- Prepare draft property financial packages, including income statements and balance sheets, for management review and final distribution.
- Record accruals and other month-end adjustments provided by property teams and help keep close calendars and daily deadlines on track.
- Support tenant accounting tasks such as billing coordination, statement preparation, and lease setup based on approved property information.
- Prior experience in property accounting, ideally within commercial real estate or multifamily environments.
- Strong knowledge of accounts payable processes, including invoice coding, approvals, batching, and payment execution.
- Hands-on experience with month-end close activities, bank reconciliations, journal entries, and general ledger review.
- Familiarity with preparing and reviewing property-level financial statements such as balance sheets and operating statements.
- Working knowledge of Yardi or MRI software; experience with Nexus is strongly preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for reconciliations, schedules, and financial support files.
- Strong organizational and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines accurately.
- A careful, analytical approach and interest in expanding into broader property accounting responsibilities over time.
