We are looking for an experienced technology program leader to coordinate multiple concurrent initiatives within a Financial Services environment in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. This Long-term Contract position will bring structure, visibility, and steady execution across cross-functional efforts by partnering with technical teams, business stakeholders, vendors, and leadership. The role is focused on keeping work organized, surfacing risks and dependencies early, and turning status updates into clear decisions and measurable progress. Success in this position requires strong communication, disciplined follow-through, and the ability to guide momentum across matrixed teams without adding unnecessary bureaucracy.
Responsibilities:
- Create and manage a consistent cadence for portfolio reviews, team check-ins, action tracking, and leadership communications across active technology initiatives.
- Collect updates from project and initiative owners, then convert that information into concise reporting that supports informed decisions by business and technology leaders.
- Remove delivery obstacles by clarifying priorities, documenting next steps, assigning ownership, and monitoring progress against agreed timelines.
- Maintain a consolidated view of milestones, interdependencies, risks, assumptions, decisions, resource considerations, and upcoming deliverables across multiple workstreams.
- Align teams involved in separate but connected efforts by highlighting sequencing needs, stakeholder impacts, and escalation points before they affect delivery.
- Develop presentations and summary materials for executive meetings, steering committees, portfolio checkpoints, and working sessions with emphasis on outcomes, issues, and decisions required.
- Partner closely with internal technology groups, product and business sponsors, enterprise architecture, information security, and external vendors to keep initiatives coordinated and on track.
- Support planning activities by shaping scope, delivery milestones, governance routines, stakeholder responsibilities, and measures of success for each initiative.
- Monitor open risks and issues through resolution, escalating concerns when accountability, timing, or decision ownership is not clearly defined.
- Encourage effective use of delivery and collaboration platforms such as Jira, Confluence, Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, SharePoint, and PowerPoint, including for technology modernization or migration-related efforts when applicable.
- At least 5 years of experience leading or coordinating technology programs, projects, or delivery work in a complex enterprise setting.
- Proven ability to oversee multiple simultaneous initiatives that require shared governance, portfolio visibility, and leadership reporting.
- Strong organizational skills with a demonstrated ability to translate informal discussions into clear actions, owners, deadlines, risks, and documented decisions.
- Experience preparing executive-ready dashboards, status reports, meeting decks, and written summaries for senior stakeholders.
- Working knowledge of technology delivery approaches spanning software, infrastructure, cloud, data, security, vendor-led execution, Agile, Scrum, or hybrid models.
- Ability to influence outcomes across matrixed teams without direct authority while maintaining accountability and momentum.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to resolve ambiguity, ask probing questions, and escalate issues professionally.
- Proficiency with project and collaboration tools such as Atlassian Jira, Confluence, Microsoft 365, Teams, SharePoint, Excel, PowerPoint, Microsoft Project, or Smartsheet; PMP certification is a plus.
