We are looking for an experienced Payroll Analyst to join a healthcare-focused organization remotely, on a Long-term Contract basis. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented payroll specialist who can assess complex payroll issues, uncover underlying causes, and help move solutions forward across UKG Pro. The role calls for strong analytical judgment, hands-on payroll knowledge, and the ability to work effectively with stakeholders in a fast-moving environment where accuracy and timely resolution are essential.
Responsibilities:
- Investigate payroll discrepancies across payroll platforms and connected applications, document findings, and drive issues through to closure.
- Support future-state tenant activities, including build support, data conversion review, and processing of catch-up payroll transactions.
- Validate migrated payroll data, reconcile inconsistencies, and partner with impacted teams to address data-related defects.
- Review parallel payroll outcomes, compare results, identify variances, perform root cause analysis, and recommend corrective measures.
- Manage defect intake by assessing priority, assigning actions, tracking progress, and escalating critical risks or blockers when necessary.
- Coordinate testing efforts by organizing plans, timelines, execution activities, and issue follow-up across systems and business workstreams.
- Work with internal partners and external vendors to resolve integration-related issues affecting inbound and outbound payroll data flows.
- Maintain thorough documentation of test results, issue analysis, resolutions, and lessons learned to support future quality improvement efforts.
- Demonstrated experience in full-cycle payroll processing, including gross-to-net calculations and payroll reconciliation.
- Strong knowledge of multi-state payroll practices, payroll taxation, and compliance considerations.
- Experience supporting payroll operations for organizations with more than 500 employees.
- Hands-on familiarity with UKG Pro, or comparable enterprise payroll systems.
- Ability to investigate complex payroll defects, identify recurring patterns, and determine root causes independently.
- Proven skill in coordinating testing, defect management, and cross-functional issue resolution in a client-facing environment.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and time-sensitive deliverables.
