We are looking for a detail-oriented Loan Closer - Support team member to join a team in Wisconsin. This contract opportunity has the potential to become permanent and is ideal for someone with hands-on mortgage closing experience who can keep loan files moving accurately and efficiently from final review through closing. The right candidate will be comfortable working with loan documentation, coordinating next steps with internal and external partners, and supporting a smooth closing process in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare, review, and finalize mortgage closing packages to help ensure loans are ready for funding within required timelines.
- Coordinate with lenders, processors, title partners, and other stakeholders to gather missing items and resolve file issues before closing.
- Verify loan documents for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with established lending and closing standards.
- Maintain up-to-date loan information in Encompass and related systems to support accurate records and status tracking.
- Support the closing process by confirming figures, reviewing conditions, and helping address documentation discrepancies.
- Communicate clearly with team members and business partners regarding file status, outstanding requirements, and closing readiness.
- Assist with post-closing follow-up tasks when needed to help ensure loan files are properly completed and organized.
- Contribute to process updates or workflow changes, including system-related adjustments, as assigned within the closing function.
- At least 2 years of experience in mortgage closing, loan processing, or a closely related lending support role.
- Practical knowledge of mortgage closing documents, lending terminology, and loan file review procedures.
- Experience working in Encompass and familiarity with loan origination platforms or comparable mortgage systems.
- Ability to manage multiple files at once while maintaining strong accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to meet deadlines in a production-driven environment.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills for working with internal teams and external partners.
- Proficiency in identifying documentation gaps and following through to resolution during the closing process.
