- Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and adjusting entries.
- Coordinate payroll processing and record payroll-related transactions accurately.
- Maintain employee expense and company credit card records.
- Prepare monthly profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow summaries.
- Review account balances and investigate discrepancies before closing the books.
- Manage month-end close activities and maintain supporting schedules.
- Assist with annual budgets, tax preparation, 1099 reporting, and CPA requests.
- Maintain organized, audit-ready financial records.
- Recommend improvements to accounting procedures, documentation, and internal controls.
- Provide management with timely updates regarding cash flow, outstanding receivables, and upcoming payments.
- 5+ years of bookkeeping or full-cycle accounting experience.
- Demonstrated experience managing AP, AR, reconciliations, and general ledger activity.
- Prior payroll coordination or payroll journal entry experience.

- Strong understanding of month-end close procedures.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, organization, and attention to detail.
- Ability to handle confidential financial information and work independently.
Preferred Experience:
- Experience supporting a small or midsize business with a lean accounting team.
- Familiarity with payroll platforms and accounting integrations.
- Experience working directly with company owners, controllers, or outside CPAs.
- Exposure to process improvements or bookkeeping cleanup projects.
