Robert Half Management Resources is recruiting for technical FP&A Manager or Financial Reporting and Automation Manager consultant to support our real estate client on a Contract engagement focused on modernizing a complex cash flow forecasting and reporting process. This role is ideal for a technically strong, detail-oriented finance specialist who can evaluate an existing Excel-based model, identify inefficiencies, and build practical automation solutions that improve speed, accuracy, and visibility. The selected consultant will help transform a time-intensive monthly process into a more dynamic and reliable forecasting environment while partnering closely with leadership on recommendations and knowledge transfer.
Responsibilities:
- Evaluate a business-critical cash flow workbook and identify opportunities to streamline forecasting, reporting, and recurring financial updates.
- Examine how budget inputs, reconciliations, and property-level financial activity are currently maintained, then redesign the workflow for greater efficiency and control.
- Build automated solutions using Excel and appropriate technologies such as AI-enabled tools, scripting, bots, or workflow platforms to reduce manual effort.
- Develop logic that allows updates to core assumptions, including revenue changes, budget revisions, and operating activity, to cascade through the model accurately.
- Enhance the intake and transformation of recurring profit and loss data, budgets, and related financial information used in reporting.
- Improve the reliability and timeliness of forecasting outputs by reducing repetitive data entry and manual model maintenance.
- Support consolidated reporting across multiple property-level schedules and summary views within the existing financial model.
- Prepare clear process documentation and deliver knowledge transfer to leadership so the solution can be maintained effectively after implementation.
- 7+ years of experience in FP&A, financial modeling, financial analysis, or a related finance-focused role.
- Advanced expertise in Excel, including complex formulas, model structuring, and automation techniques.
- Hands-on experience creating automated workflows with tools such as Power Query, Python, Copilot, Power Automate, or similar technologies.
- Demonstrated ability to assess existing financial processes and introduce practical solutions that improve reporting and forecasting efficiency.
- Strong background in budgeting, cash flow modeling, and financial planning within complex operating environments.
- Experience working with AI-enabled process automation, bots, or workflow tools in a business setting.
- Ability to communicate technical recommendations clearly and partner effectively with stakeholders and leadership.
- Accounting or finance domain knowledge is preferred; real estate industry experience is helpful but not required.
