We are looking for a Finance Transformation Manager to support a wholesale distribution organization near Oak Brook, Illinois as it strengthens financial reporting, analytics, and intelligent process design across a growing business portfolio. This Long-term Contract position will work closely with finance and operational leaders to turn complex data into practical insights, improve reporting consistency, and introduce modern tools that elevate decision-making. The ideal candidate brings a strong mix of finance expertise, business intelligence capability, and hands-on experience applying AI solutions to real business workflows.
Responsibilities:
- Review current finance and operational reporting practices across multiple business units and identify opportunities to improve accuracy, visibility, and scalability.
- Build unified reporting structures and leadership dashboards that provide a clear view of revenue, margin performance, profitability, working capital, and key operating measures.
- Produce executive-ready reporting materials that help senior stakeholders evaluate business performance and prioritize actions.
- Streamline recurring reporting activities by creating automated processes that reduce manual effort and improve timeliness.
- Identify finance and business functions that can benefit from AI-enabled solutions and implement practical workflows that enhance efficiency and support better decisions.
- Develop reusable prompt frameworks and user-friendly guidance so finance teams can apply generative AI tools effectively in day-to-day work.
- Combine and standardize data from finance and operational systems to create a dependable foundation for analytics and reporting.
- Deliver diagnostic and forward-looking analysis that helps leaders understand performance drivers, risks, and opportunities.
- Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to define reporting standards, strengthen data governance, and recommend scalable solutions that support continued growth and acquisition integration.
Required
- 7+ years of experience in data analytics, business intelligence, finance transformation, or related disciplines.
- Experience supporting CFOs, finance organizations, or private-equity-backed companies.
- Strong expertise in:
- Power BI
- SQL
- Tableau or similar BI platforms
- Advanced Excel
- Data visualization
- Reporting automation
- Proven experience leveraging AI tools in business environments.
- Experience designing AI-assisted workflows and process automation solutions.
- Ability to communicate technical concepts to finance and operational stakeholders.
- Strong project-based consulting experience.
Preferred
- Experience within food manufacturing, food processing, distribution, supply chain, or multi-site operating environments.
- Experience supporting acquisition integration initiatives.
The salary range for this position is $65/hour to $70/hour. Benefits available to contract/temporary professionals, include medical, vision, dental, and life and disability insurance.
