We are looking for a dependable Dispatcher to support daily delivery operations in Madison, Wisconsin. This Contract position plays a key role in coordinating drivers, organizing shipments, and keeping last-mile activity running smoothly in a fast-moving warehouse environment. The ideal candidate is highly organized, comfortable managing multiple priorities at once, and committed to maintaining accurate, timely communication across delivery workflows.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate daily outbound operations by preparing morning load-outs and arranging driver assignments for efficient route execution.
- Receive, scan, label, and organize packages to ensure shipments are accurately staged for dispatch.
- Oversee delivery activity throughout the day, making route adjustments as needed to improve timing and service performance.
- Maintain location and geofence accuracy so drivers and packages can be tracked correctly in the system.
- Investigate and resolve shipment-related issues quickly, including failed deliveries, missing items, and age-verification exceptions.
- Track package progress and update delivery statuses to provide clear visibility into operational performance.
- Schedule independent contractor drivers and confirm adequate coverage to meet daily volume demands.
- Monitor live operational messaging channels and respond promptly to support drivers and internal teams.
- Review proof-of-delivery photos to verify completion records and uphold quality standards.
- Prior experience in dispatch, logistics coordination, or transportation operations.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly in a fast-paced setting.
- Familiarity with computer-aided dispatch systems or similar transportation software.
- Ability to manage multiple delivery tasks simultaneously while maintaining close attention to detail.
- Experience coordinating driver schedules, shipment flow, or warehouse-related logistics.
- Comfortable troubleshooting delivery issues and making timely operational decisions.
- Proficiency with basic computer systems and real-time communication tools.
