We are looking for a reliable Dispatcher to support daily delivery operations in Madison, Wisconsin. You will play an important role in keeping deliveries on schedule, maintaining package visibility, and helping ensure a smooth last-mile process.
Responsibilities:
- Organize morning outbound activities by preparing loads, arranging parcels, and setting up efficient daily routes for drivers.
- Handle package processing tasks such as scanning, labeling, and sorting items to support accurate distribution.
- Oversee active delivery routes throughout the day and make adjustments to improve timeliness and operational efficiency.
- Verify location-based delivery boundaries and correct geofence issues that could affect route execution or package status.
- Investigate and resolve shipment exceptions quickly, including missing items, failed delivery attempts, and age-verification concerns.
- Track package progress and maintain up-to-date status information to support delivery accuracy and issue resolution.
- Coordinate scheduling for independent contract drivers and confirm sufficient coverage for planned delivery volume.
- Monitor live communication channels and respond to operational messages to keep drivers and internal teams informed.
- Review proof-of-delivery photos to confirm completion standards and identify any discrepancies requiring follow-up.
- Experience in dispatching, logistics coordination, or transportation operations.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally.
- Comfort working with computer-based dispatch or tracking systems in a high-volume environment.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks at once while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
