We are looking for a dependable Dispatcher to support daily delivery operations in Madison, Wisconsin. This Contract position plays a key role in coordinating drivers, organizing package flow, and helping ensure deliveries move out accurately and on schedule. The ideal candidate is highly organized, comfortable working in a fast-paced warehouse environment, and confident managing real-time updates across multiple tasks.
Responsibilities:
- Organize the daily outbound process by preparing loads, arranging packages, and setting up efficient driver routes for the day.
- Scan, tag, and sort shipments accurately to maintain proper tracking and readiness for dispatch.
- Oversee active delivery routes throughout the day and make adjustments to improve efficiency and on-time performance.
- Verify geofence settings and address discrepancies that could affect delivery confirmations or route accuracy.
- Investigate and resolve package-related exceptions quickly, including missing items, failed delivery attempts, and age-verification issues.
- Track shipment progress and update delivery statuses to provide clear visibility across operations.
- Coordinate schedules for independent contractor drivers and confirm adequate coverage for planned volume.
- Monitor live messaging channels and respond promptly to operational questions or urgent delivery concerns.
- Review proof-of-delivery photos to confirm completion standards and support quality control efforts.
- Experience in dispatch, logistics coordination, or transportation support within a high-volume operation.
- Strong customer service and communication skills, including the ability to respond clearly in real time.
- Familiarity with computer-aided dispatch systems or similar tracking and routing tools.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities at once while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
- Comfortable working with package status updates, route monitoring, and driver scheduling responsibilities.
- Proficiency with warehouse or delivery technology used for scanning, labeling, and shipment tracking.
