We are looking for a dependable Dispatcher to join a fast-paced logistics operation. This position is centered on coordinating driver activity, supporting daily delivery execution, and keeping hub operations running smoothly from start to finish. The ideal candidate is comfortable working on site, communicating with drivers and team members throughout the day, and using digital tools to manage shifting priorities in a high-volume environment.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate daily support for a large group of drivers by managing route activity, tracking delivery progress, and responding to operational needs throughout the shift.
- Use company systems and scheduling tools to build, adjust, and monitor route plans so deliveries stay organized and on schedule.
- Help prepare the hub before drivers depart by receiving arriving vehicles, organizing packages, staging routes, and getting the floor ready for loadout.
- Assist drivers during loadout by handling check-in and check-out, resolving delivery questions, and providing guidance on service expectations, safety, and compliance.
- Monitor drivers while they are on the road, identify delivery issues as they arise, and escalate payment, compliance, or technical concerns to the appropriate teams.
- Review proof-of-delivery records and photos for accuracy, flag missing or incorrect documentation, and help reconcile failed or incomplete deliveries.
- Reset the operational floor after loadout, close out open package issues, and prepare clear shift notes for the remote dispatch team taking over later in the day.
- Provide hands-on support in busy periods, including limited package sorting and other hub tasks needed to maintain service levels.
- Maintain an active presence across the floor and yard, staying engaged with real-time operations in both indoor and outdoor conditions.
- Availability for part time work 4 days a week 7am - 12pm.
- Experience using workplace technology such as Slack, Google Sheets, and other computer-based coordination tools.
- Strong communication and customer service skills with the ability to remain clear, detail-oriented, and empathetic under pressure.
- Comfortable taking initiative, managing multiple priorities, and making sound decisions in a fast-moving logistics setting.
- Ability to work actively on the floor and in the yard, including outdoor exposure and occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds.
- Spanish language skills are a plus but not required.
