We are looking for a dependable Dispatcher to support daily delivery coordination in Madison, Wisconsin. This Contract position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-moving warehouse and logistics setting, can keep multiple priorities organized, and communicates clearly with drivers and internal teams. In this role, you will help keep deliveries on schedule by managing route activity, tracking shipment progress, and addressing operational issues as they arise.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate daily dispatch activities by preparing outbound loads and organizing driver assignments for efficient delivery execution.
- Receive, scan, label, and sort parcels accurately to support smooth warehouse flow and timely route departure.
- Oversee active delivery routes throughout the day, making adjustments when needed to improve service and efficiency.
- Verify geofence data and delivery zone accuracy to help maintain reliable routing and shipment tracking.
- Investigate and resolve package-related concerns quickly, including exceptions such as failed drop-offs, missing items, and verification-related issues.
- Track shipment movement and delivery status updates to ensure accurate records and timely follow-up on delays.
- Arrange schedules for independent contractor drivers and confirm adequate coverage for daily volume demands.
- Respond to operational communications through live messaging tools and provide prompt support to drivers in the field.
- Review proof-of-delivery photos for completeness and accuracy to support quality standards and documentation requirements.
- Experience in dispatching, logistics coordination, or transportation support within a fast-paced operational environment.
- Strong customer service and communication skills, with the ability to respond professionally to drivers, team members, and service issues.
- Working knowledge of computer-aided dispatch systems and shipment tracking tools.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks at once while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
- Comfortable using warehouse and office technology, including scanning systems, chat platforms, and status monitoring tools.
- Proven problem-solving skills with the ability to make timely decisions during delivery exceptions or coverage gaps.
- Availability to work in an on-site operations setting and support time-sensitive delivery schedules.
