We are looking for a reliable Dispatcher to join a busy warehouse and last-mile delivery operation in Wisconsin. This contract position with permanent potential is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-moving environment and can keep daily transportation activities organized, accurate, and on schedule. The person in this role will coordinate driver assignments, support package flow, and help maintain strong service levels throughout the delivery process. The hours are 5AM-130PM.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate daily outbound dispatch activities by preparing routes, organizing shipment releases, and supporting morning loadout operations.
- Scan, tag, and arrange parcels to help ensure freight is accurately processed and ready for driver pickup.
- Oversee active delivery routes throughout the day, making adjustments that improve efficiency and support on-time service.
- Maintain location and geofence accuracy so delivery activity is properly recorded and aligned with operational standards.
- Investigate and resolve package-related exceptions quickly, including missing items, failed drop-offs, and delivery status concerns.
- Track shipment progress and document updates related to proof of delivery, age verification issues, and other service events.
- Schedule independent contract drivers and balance assignments to ensure adequate coverage for daily volume demands.
- Respond to live operational messages and provide timely support to drivers and internal teams during active dispatch windows.
- Review proof-of-delivery photos for quality and compliance, escalating discrepancies when documentation does not meet expectations.
- Previous experience in dispatch, logistics coordination, or transportation support within a fast-paced operation.
- Strong customer service and communication skills with the ability to respond calmly and clearly to time-sensitive issues.
- Comfort working with dispatch software, shipment tracking tools, and other computer-based operational systems.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities at once while maintaining close attention to detail and accuracy.
- Experience coordinating driver activity, route coverage, or delivery scheduling is strongly preferred.
- Problem-solving skills with the ability to identify service issues and take prompt corrective action.
- Dependable organizational skills and the ability to work effectively in a warehouse-supported delivery environment.
