We have an immediate need for an Accounting Manager with manufacturing experience who is looking for career progression. The Accounting Manager will manage a team of 3, yet remain very hands on in the role. Previous experience with managing the close process from start to finish with hands on contribution to the close process and monthly reporting package is necessary. Additionally, any exposure to Government billing, IFRS and an ability to help manage the annual budgeting process is desired.
This role will offer multiple avenues for career progression, a career minded candidate is desired with desire to advance within the company.
Responsibilities:
- Ability to manage the monthly close process
- Previous exposure to cost accounting, 4+ years in a manufacturing environment, and experience in smaller to mid-level companies or plants
- Gross margin analysis and heavy budget preparation and ownership
- Prior experience with inventory management is desired
- Previous managing experience with a proven record of progression is desired
Qualifications
- An Accounting degree is needed with a strong preference for an MBA or MSA
- Key qualifications include full GL, P&L, budget/forecast experience, and GAAP/IFRS knowledge
- Exposure to SAP and or SAGE is a plus
- Knowledge of all social networking platforms
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field is required.
- At least 7 years of accounting experience, including work in a manufacturing setting.
- Demonstrated success managing the month-end close process from start to finish.
- Strong background in general ledger management, financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Experience overseeing or mentoring accounting staff in a lead or supervisory capacity.
- Knowledge of cost accounting, inventory accounting, and gross margin analysis.
- Hands-on experience with journal entries, account reconciliations, and audit support.
- Prior exposure to plant-level accounting operations or small to mid-sized manufacturing environments is preferred.
