We are looking for an Accounting Manager to join a manufacturing organization in Fenton, Missouri, on a Long-term Contract basis. In this role, you will oversee core accounting activities, guide the close and reporting cycle, and help maintain strong financial controls across the business. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with leadership while improving accounting processes and supporting reliable financial operations.
Responsibilities:
- Direct daily accounting activities across payables, receivables, cash transactions, commissions, and rebate programs.
- Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close efforts and deliver accurate financial reporting for leadership review.
- Review reconciliations, journal entries, and account analyses to maintain complete and dependable financial records.
- Coordinate audit preparation activities and serve as a primary contact for external auditors during annual reviews.
- Strengthen accounting policies and internal control practices to support compliance and reduce risk.
- Monitor tax-related accounting obligations and help ensure timely and accurate filings.
- Identify inefficiencies in current workflows and implement practical improvements that support a more effective accounting function.
- Contribute to special projects and provide coverage for essential finance responsibilities when needed.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
- At least 3 years of accounting experience, with strong knowledge of general ledger activity and month-end close.
- Background in financial statement audits, account reconciliations, and journal entry review or preparation.
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment is strongly preferred.
- Prior leadership, team supervision, or responsibility for guiding accounting work is preferred.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and solid proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines, solve problems effectively, and communicate well with cross-functional teams.
