We are looking for an entry-level Accountant to support daily finance operations at our Georgetown, Kentucky location. This Long-term Contract position is ideal for someone with at least one year of accounting experience who is comfortable handling routine financial tasks, assisting with audit activities, and contributing during month-end and year-end close periods. The role offers the opportunity to build hands-on experience in a corporate accounting environment while working closely with the broader finance team.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with audit preparation by organizing financial records, compiling requested documentation, and supporting follow-up activities.
- Prepare and review routine financial reports to help the accounting team maintain accurate and timely information.
- Perform foundational accounting duties, including posting accounting entries and maintaining supporting documentation.
- Support month-end and year-end closing activities by completing assigned reconciliations and verifying account accuracy.
- Process and monitor accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions to help ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
- Reconcile bank statements and internal records, identifying discrepancies and escalating issues when needed.
- Maintain organized accounting files and spreadsheets to support reporting accuracy and audit readiness.
- At least 1 year of experience in accounting or a closely related finance support role.
- Working knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general accounting entries.
- Experience performing account reconciliations and bank reconciliations with strong attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for tracking, organizing, and analyzing financial information.
- Ability to assist with month-end and year-end processes in a structured accounting environment.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities with accuracy.
- Effective communication skills and a collaborative approach to working with internal teams.
