We are looking for an experienced Accountant / Senior Accountant to support financial operations for a manufacturing environment. This Contract to Hire position is ideal for someone who can manage core accounting activities, maintain accurate records, and contribute to reliable month-end reporting. The role requires strong knowledge of payables, receivables, general ledger activity, reconciliations and job costing, along with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced setting.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily accounting tasks across accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger functions to ensure accurate financial processing.
- Prepare and post journal entries while maintaining supporting documentation and verifying the accuracy of account activity.
- Reconcile bank accounts and other balance sheet accounts on a regular basis, investigating and resolving discrepancies promptly.
- Support month-end and periodic close activities by reviewing transactions, validating balances, and assisting with financial reporting.
- Track manufacturing-related costs and job costing details to help maintain visibility into operational and project-level expenses.
- Review invoices, payment records, and customer account activity to help ensure timely disbursements and collections.
- Maintain organized financial records and contribute to process accuracy through consistent adherence to accounting controls.
- At least 5 years of accounting experience in a detail-focused business environment.
- Hands-on experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger accounting.
- Proven ability to prepare journal entries and complete account reconciliations with a high degree of accuracy.
- Experience performing bank reconciliations and researching variances independently.
- Background in manufacturing accounting, including exposure to job costing principles.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Proficiency with standard accounting systems and spreadsheet tools used for financial analysis and reporting.
