Responsibilities:
- Direct the full month-end close cycle, ensuring financial results are completed accurately and delivered on schedule.
- Oversee daily accounting activity by reviewing general ledger entries, reconciling bank and balance sheet accounts, and maintaining the integrity of financial records.
- Manage cash-related transactions, including posting activity, monitoring reconciliations, and supporting timely payment processing.
- Guide payroll accounting operations and supervise the Accounting Manager responsible for billing and payroll administration.
- Provide oversight for accounts payable workflows and confirm that lower-volume AP activity is processed correctly and efficiently.
- Review credit card expenditures to ensure expenses are coded appropriately and reflected accurately in the books.
- Build and enhance internal reporting, including KPI tracking and management-level financial packages that improve business visibility.
- Partner with leadership on budgeting, forecasting, and special financial analyses, while responding promptly to one-off reporting requests.
- Help strengthen accounting and reporting processes within a lean environment by introducing organization, consistency, and practical improvements.
- Proven experience in a Controller or senior accounting leadership role with responsibility for both accounting operations and financial reporting.
- Strong background in month-end close, general ledger management, and account reconciliations, including bank, cash, and balance sheet accounts.
- Experience supporting payroll-related accounting in organizations with significant wage or transaction volume.
- Ability to operate independently in a setting with limited infrastructure and take full ownership of priorities and deliverables.
- Demonstrated skill in management reporting, KPI development, budgeting, and forecasting support.
- Proficiency with Sage Intacct is strongly preferred.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required for analysis, reporting, and financial modeling.
