We are looking for an experienced Controller to lead core accounting operations and provide reliable financial insight that supports business decisions across multiple facilities. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate financial reporting, strengthening internal controls, and guiding cost performance analysis within a manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting knowledge, sound judgment, and the ability to translate complex financial data into clear recommendations for leadership.
Responsibilities:
- Produce monthly internal financial reports and ensure results are accurate, timely, and useful for leadership review.
- Direct cost accounting activities across seven facilities, analyze operating variances, and partner with site teams to improve financial performance.
- Coordinate audit support by preparing schedules, documentation, and other materials needed by external auditors and tax professionals.
- Oversee sales and use tax compliance to help maintain accurate filings and reduce risk.
- Review monthly balance sheet reconciliations to confirm accounts are properly supported and resolved promptly.
- Evaluate accounting controls and recommend process enhancements that strengthen reporting accuracy and system effectiveness.
- Respond to management requests for financial analysis, operational reporting, and decision-support information.
- Lead the collection and coordination of budget inputs from departments during the annual planning cycle.
- Manage accounting activity involving multiple locations and business units while ensuring consistency in financial treatment.
- Work closely with the management team to deliver meaningful financial insights and recommend improvements to accounting policies and procedures.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
- CPA designation strongly preferred.
- Solid understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and their practical application.
- Prior experience in manufacturing industry required
