We are looking for a Contract Controller to lead accounting and financial operations for a manufacturing organization. This role will guide reporting, budgeting, compliance, and daily accounting activities while providing senior leadership with clear financial insight. The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting knowledge, sound judgment, and the ability to keep financial processes accurate, efficient, and well controlled.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the daily execution of accounting operations, ensuring core processes are completed accurately and on schedule across the department.
- Produce timely financial statements and management reports that highlight business performance, trends, and key financial drivers.
- Develop, monitor, and refine budgets to support organizational priorities and maintain alignment between spending and business goals.
- Maintain effective internal controls and risk management practices to safeguard assets and strengthen financial oversight.
- Oversee compliance with applicable tax rules, financial reporting obligations, and accounting standards, including GAAP requirements.
- Supervise and support accounting staff, helping the team meet close deadlines and maintain high-quality work.
- Manage month-end and year-end close activities, including general ledger review, journal entries, and reconciliation of key accounts.
- Provide financial analysis and practical recommendations to senior leadership to support planning and operational decision-making.
- Use systems such as Sage Intacct, Concur, Avalara, and related financial tools to support reporting, expense management, and accounting workflows.
- Proven experience leading accounting and finance functions in a Controller or similar leadership role.
- Strong background in financial reporting, financial statement preparation, budgeting, and close processes.
- Working knowledge of GAAP and US GAAP, with the ability to apply accounting standards accurately.
- Hands-on experience with general ledger activity, journal entries, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
- Proficiency with ERP and finance platforms such as Sage Intacct, Concur, Avalara, and SAP.
- Demonstrated ability to manage compliance requirements, internal controls, and financial risk.
- Strong organizational skills with experience compiling documentation and meeting recurring reporting deadlines.
