The Opportunity Join a sophisticated investment organization as an Assistant Controller, supporting both investment and real estate accounting. This highly visible role offers broad exposure across private investments, property operations, financial reporting, and process improvement, with a strong focus on automation and accounting excellence.

- Investment and partnership accounting
- Real estate and property accounting
- Financial reporting and consolidations
- Month-end close and cash planning
- Process improvement, automation, and AI initiatives
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee accounting and reporting for private investments, including capital activity, valuations, reconciliations, and K-1 reporting.
- Manage property and real estate accounting, including budgets, operating expenditures, capital projects, and entity consolidations.
- Support monthly and annual close activities, financial reporting, cash forecasting, and tax-related filings.
- Partner with investment, finance, and operational teams to drive reporting accuracy and business insights.
- Strengthen internal controls, improve accounting processes, and leverage technology and AI tools to enhance efficiency and scalability.

What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- CPA strongly preferred
- 10+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting
- Experience with partnership accounting, investment accounting, or alternative assets
- Real estate, property accounting, or entity consolidation experience
- Background preparing and reviewing consolidated financial statements
- Advanced Excel and ERP system proficiency
- Strong analytical, organizational, and project management skills
- Experience within a family office, investment management, private investment, fund accounting, or real estate environment highly preferred
- Interest in leveraging AI and automation tools to improve accounting operations
