Your new company A top ENR-ranked national contractor is expanding its operations and looking to add a talented Estimator to its growing pre-construction team in Northern Virginia. This opportunity is driven by sustained growth and a strong, long-term project pipeline across the mission-critical sector. This East Coast division is part of a $2B+ annual revenue nationwide construction firm, consistently ranked among the top U.S. contractors by ENR. The local office, based in Northern Virginia, delivers approximately $600M–$700M annually, completing nearly all work throughout Northern Virginia, Washington DC, and Maryland, with select projects in surrounding states. The business is structured into two primary groups including Base Build / Shell Construction and Corporate Interiors & Special Projects on large-scale mission-critical projects.
Your new role
- You will be joining a team of 6 experienced estimators performing estimates on large-scale mission-critical and interior projects.
- Bid preparation and pre-construction, including liaising with subcontractors, reading drawings and specifications and performing takeoffs.
What you'll need to succeed
- 6+ years of construction estimating experience with a general contractor or subcontractor
- Experience supporting renovation, ground-up, base build, or large-scale commercial projects (data centers, commercial is a plus)
- Experience reading and interpreting construction documents, drawings, and specifications
- Familiarity with subcontractor scope review, bid leveling, and vendor outreach
- Understanding of material takeoffs, labor costs, and subcontractor pricing
- Experience working in a collaborative pre-construction or estimating team
