Staff Accountant Location: Wilmington, NC (Hybrid - 3 Days Onsite) About the Opportunity Our client, a rapidly growing, private equity-backed organization, is seeking a Staff Accountant to join its expanding finance and accounting team. Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and post journal entries and complete monthly account reconciliations.
- Support month-end close activities, including analysis of revenue, expenses, and balance sheet accounts.
- Prepare monthly financial reports and analyze variances against expectations.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
- Partner with operational leaders to provide financial insights and support decision-making.
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and enhance internal controls.
- Support external audits and assist with financial statement preparation.
- Participate in special projects, acquisitions integration efforts, and system improvement initiatives.
- Assist with year-end reporting requirements and various compliance-related activities.
- Provide ad hoc financial analysis and reporting support as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 1-4 years of accounting experience, preferably within public accounting or a multi-entity corporate environment.
- Solid understanding of U.S. GAAP and accounting principles.
- Experience with month-end close, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
- Strong Excel skills and ability to analyze large volumes of financial data.
- Excellent attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
