- Manage streaming delivery across supported platforms by optimizing manifest behavior, segment formatting, and secure content distribution for reliable playback.
- Troubleshoot DRM licensing and protected playback across device ecosystems, ensuring the most effective rights management approach is applied for each platform.
- Investigate and resolve playback defects affecting smart TVs, browsers, Roku, Fire TV, and other consumer devices, including streaming interruptions and audio/video sync issues.
- Improve content accessibility by validating caption delivery, text track behavior, and metadata required for a consistent viewing experience.
- Build and maintain preview image, thumbnail, and scrubbing-related assets that enhance navigation and trick-play functionality.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to support ad-enabled streaming workflows, including packaging readiness and playback conditioning for monetized content.
- Expand automated test coverage and use playback analytics to identify quality concerns before they impact subscribers.
- Contribute to platform modernization efforts related to video workflows and delivery architecture as needed.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
- At least 5 years of experience in video engineering within streaming, media, or broadcast environments.
- Strong expertise in HLS, adaptive bitrate streaming, video encoding concepts, and packaged media delivery workflows.
- Hands-on experience with DRM technologies such as Widevine, PlayReady, and FairPlay, including troubleshooting license and playback issues.
- Familiarity with CDN and secure delivery concepts, including caching behavior, tokenized access, and origin configuration.
- Proficiency with industry tools such as FFmpeg, MediaInfo, Shaka Packager, Bento4, or similar stream analysis and packaging utilities.
- Ability to script in Python, Node.js, or Bash to automate operational tasks, validation, or testing.
- Experience working with video player technologies and diagnosing playback behavior across a wide range of consumer devices.
