We are looking for a detail-oriented contract specialist to support a focused data quality initiative in Saint Paul, Minnesota. This role is centered on improving the accuracy, consistency, and reliability of account information while helping the business maintain clean, usable records for reporting and operational needs. The ideal candidate brings strong analytical judgment, comfort with large datasets, and the ability to translate data findings into practical business insights.
Responsibilities:
- Examine account records in the CRM to uncover duplicates, missing information, conflicting entries, and other data integrity concerns.
- Clean and standardize core account details such as company names, location fields, industry categories, and related attributes according to established data rules.
- Compare CRM account records against master data sources and determine accurate matches using identifiers such as customer numbers, billing references, quotes, and order details.
- Use Excel, data preparation tools, and logical matching methods to identify likely record connections and confirm uncertain results through careful review.
- Build and maintain cross-reference files that link account records between systems and clearly document updates, assumptions, and unresolved items.
- Investigate inconsistencies across account, quote, order, bill-to, and sold-to information, then track follow-up actions needed for resolution.
- Validate cleansed and mapped records through audits, spot checks, and stakeholder review to confirm readiness for reporting and future migration planning.
- Maintain organized logs of exceptions, risks, discrepancies, and open issues, escalating items that require business or system-owner input.
- Experience working with data analysis, data entry, or record management in a business environment.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and confidence handling large volumes of structured information.
- Familiarity with CRM or ERP platforms and an understanding of how customer or account data is maintained across systems.
- Demonstrated ability to identify discrepancies, investigate root causes, and apply consistent data quality standards.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills with the ability to document findings and collaborate with stakeholders.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities within a time-sensitive contract assignment.
- Background in reporting, documentation, auditing, or process-driven office support work is highly valued.
