We are looking for a Network Security Administrator to support and strengthen a company’s infrastructure, cybersecurity practices, and secure use of emerging AI technologies in Boca Raton, Florida. This Long-term Contract position is ideal for someone who can take ownership of network and security operations, work effectively in a small IT environment, and contribute practical guidance with minimal oversight. The role also includes partnering with internal IT staff to improve system reliability, protect business data, and provide occasional end-user technical support when needed.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and troubleshoot core network operations, including administration of Ubiquiti-based infrastructure to maintain performance, availability, and security.
- Improve protection across network environments, user endpoints, hosted systems, and Microsoft 365 by identifying vulnerabilities and applying appropriate security measures.
- Review business use of AI platforms such as Claude, ChatGPT, and Microsoft Copilot, then help define secure settings, access practices, and usage guardrails.
- Provide focused oversight for the secure rollout and ongoing administration of Claude, with attention to data exposure risks and operational controls.
- Support Microsoft 365 administration in coordination with other IT team members, including identity, access, and security-related functions.
- Maintain and support two remotely hosted servers along with the applications they run, ensuring stability and timely issue resolution.
- Analyze the current technology landscape, identify operational or security gaps, and present actionable improvement recommendations to leadership.
- Assist with initiatives involving movement from hosted applications to cloud-based services while helping reduce risk during implementation.
- Work closely with help desk and Intune support personnel to resolve technical issues and deliver reliable service to internal users.
- Create and update technical documentation covering configurations, procedures, support processes, and infrastructure changes.
- Proven background in network administration and cybersecurity within a business environment.
- Ability to independently diagnose infrastructure issues, manage priorities, and implement effective technical solutions.
- Practical knowledge of AI tools and the security considerations involved in deploying them for organizational use.
- Experience administering and securing Microsoft 365, including related identity and endpoint management technologies.
- Working understanding of server support and remotely hosted infrastructure.
- Capability to balance infrastructure responsibilities with occasional hands-on support for end-user equipment and workplace technology.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain risks, recommendations, and technical decisions to non-technical stakeholders.
- Availability to work fully onsite in Boca Raton, Florida.
