We are looking for a Financial Analyst to support key reporting and performance analysis activities for a healthcare-focused organization in San Francisco, California. This Long-term Contract position is ideal for someone who can translate financial and operational data into clear insights that support timely decision-making. The role will partner closely with finance and accounting teams to monitor revenue, evaluate expense trends, and deliver accurate reporting across multiple departments and service lines.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and post monthly revenue journal entries by reviewing financial activity across units, divisions, and payer categories within the organization’s revenue systems.
- Interpret revenue fluctuations each month and produce concise commentary that highlights underlying drivers, potential exposure, and favorable trends.
- Maintain recurring accounts receivable aging and collectability reporting, incorporating weekly analysis of payment risk, denials, and outstanding balances.
- Update monthly receivables and adjustment waterfall reporting for multiple service lines, identifying collection patterns among major payers and summarizing overall performance.
- Reconcile census-related information against revenue reports, confirm data accuracy, and submit validated figures into Prophix ahead of monthly budget variance discussions.
- Support budget variance review meetings by researching discrepancies, preparing supporting analysis, and coordinating with accounting to resolve posting issues whenever possible before meetings occur.
- Perform ad hoc financial analysis and special projects as needed to support reporting priorities and operational planning.
- Work across more than 30 departments to assess operating expense variances and provide meaningful explanations for budget-to-actual results.

- At least 3 years of experience in financial analysis, with direct exposure to healthcare revenue, preferably in skilled nursing environments; hospital experience is an advantage.
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business, or a related field.
- Advanced Excel skills, along with working proficiency in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.
- Demonstrated ability to build structured analyses, identify required data sources, validate information, and communicate findings in a clear manner.
- Strong attention to detail with a consistent record of producing accurate and well-reviewed deliverables.
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate productively across teams and leadership levels.
- Solid problem-solving and organizational skills, including the ability to manage recurring deadlines and shifting priorities.
- Experience with revenue management platforms and business planning tools such as Prophix is highly desirable; familiarity with Visio is a plus.
