A well-established litigation practice in the Greater Boston area is seeking an experienced attorney to join its growing defense litigation team. This opportunity is ideal for a experienced practitioner who enjoys managing complex civil matters, working directly with clients, and handling cases from inception through resolution. Responsibilities Manage a diverse caseload involving civil litigation and risk-related disputes. Handle matters through all phases of litigation, including pleadings, discovery, depositions, motion practice, mediation, arbitration, and trial preparation. Develop litigation strategy and provide practical counsel to clients. Draft and argue substantive motions and prepare legal memoranda. Conduct witness interviews, fact investigations, and deposition preparation. Collaborate with colleagues and clients to achieve favorable outcomes. Represent clients in court appearances, hearings, and alternative dispute resolution proceedings. Qualifications J.D. from an accredited law school. Active license to practice law in Massachusetts. 10+ years of civil litigation experience, preferably involving defense-side representation. Experience handling matters independently from initial assignment through resolution. Strong legal research, writing, and advocacy skills. Significant experience drafting dispositive motions, discovery-related motions, and case evaluations. Ability to manage client relationships and provide strategic guidance. Prior courtroom, hearing, or trial experience is highly desirable.
