Location: Chandler, AZ | Schedule: 6am to 2:30pm | Payrate: $25 - $32/hour
PDS Tech Commercial is partnering with a leading aerospace manufacturer to hire a skilled and detail-driven Cold Heading Setup Operator . If you have experience in precision manufacturing and thrive in a fast-paced production environment, this is your opportunity to work on high-quality aerospace fasteners and components that help keep the industry moving forward.
In this role, you will play a critical part in the setup, operation, and maintenance of cold heading machinery used to manufacture precision fasteners. Your expertise will directly impact product quality, operational efficiency, and customer satisfaction in one of the world’s most demanding industries.
What You’ll Do
Machine Setup & Operation
- Set up and operate cold heading machines to manufacture aerospace fasteners, including bolts, insert rivets, and other precision components
- Adjust machine settings, tooling, and material feeds to meet customer specifications and production standards
- Monitor machine performance and make necessary adjustments to ensure smooth, efficient production
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting to minimize downtime and maintain optimal machine operation
Quality Control & Inspections
- Conduct in-process inspections using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges
- Verify products meet dimensional tolerances and strict quality standards
- Document inspection results and communicate quality concerns to production leadership and quality teams
- Identify defects and make machine or process adjustments as needed
Process Improvement & Team Support
- Identify opportunities to improve production efficiency, reduce waste, and optimize workflows
- Collaborate with engineering, maintenance, and production teams to resolve manufacturing challenges
- Assist with training and mentoring new operators on equipment and best practices
- Maintain organized work areas and support 5S standards throughout the facility
Safety & Compliance
- Follow all workplace safety procedures and manufacturing guidelines
- Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, AS9100, and other aerospace quality standards
- Report safety concerns and equipment issues promptly to leadership and maintenance personnel
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2+ years of experience as a Cold Heading Setup Operator or similar manufacturing role
- Strong understanding of cold heading machinery, tooling, and fastener manufacturing processes
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and technical specifications
- Experience using precision measuring instruments including calipers, micrometers, and gauges
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced production environment
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Technical certification or specialized training in machining, cold heading, or manufacturing processes
- Experience in aerospace, fastener, or precision manufacturing environments
- Familiarity with continuous improvement initiatives and lean manufacturing principles
- Knowledge of industry quality systems and compliance standards

Pay Details: $25.00 to $32.00 per hour
