Robert Half Contract Finance & Accounting is seeking a Staff Accountant for a growing organization in Downtown Reno. This Long-term Contract opportunity is well suited for someone who takes pride in maintaining accurate financial records, handling core accounting activities, and contributing to a dependable close process. The position offers the chance to work closely with an established accounting team while helping day-to-day operations run smoothly during an extended coverage period.
Responsibilities:
- Record and post journal entries to ensure accounting activity is captured accurately and on time.
- Reconcile general ledger accounts and investigate variances to keep financial data complete and reliable.
- Contribute to month-end and year-end close procedures by preparing schedules and supporting documentation.
- Review transactions for proper account coding and correct discrepancies when needed.
- Complete balance sheet reconciliations and follow up on outstanding items to support clean financial reporting.
- Research accounting issues, identify root causes, and help resolve exceptions in a timely manner.
- Assist with financial reporting and provide analysis that supports accounting leadership and business needs.
- Maintain organized records, schedules, and backup documentation to strengthen audit readiness and reporting accuracy.
- Partner with team members and accounting leadership on special projects and other priority assignments as needed.

- Hands-on experience preparing journal entries and working within a general ledger environment.
