Family Law Legal Assistant – Wichita, KS A well-established, mid-sized law firm in Wichita, KS is seeking a Family Law Legal Assistant to join its growing practice. This role offers hands-on responsibility, strong mentorship, and long-term growth potential within a collaborative team environment.
Position Overview This role supports a busy family law practice and plays a key part in day-to-day case management. Responsibilities include drafting legal correspondence, pleadings, and discovery; managing attorney calendars and deadlines; organizing and maintaining case files; and providing administrative and litigation support. The position also assists in supporting and guiding newer attorneys as they develop their practices.
Preferred Qualifications
- 2–3+ years of family law or related experience strongly preferred (10+ years highly valued)
- Family law experience preferred
- Candidates with significant experience are highly valued
- Paralegal certification preferred, not required
- Experience supporting multiple attorneys in a fast-paced environment
- Familiarity with Tabs3 billing/case management software a plus
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Solid understanding of legal terminology, court filings, and case workflows
Education
- High school diploma or GED required
- Equivalent combinations of education, certifications (ALS, PLS, CPS, paralegal certificate), and experience will be considered
Compensation & Benefits
- $22–$27/hour, depending on experience
