- Review insurance coverage and confirm patient eligibility, benefits, and plan-specific requirements before services are delivered.
- Prepare and send authorization submissions with the necessary clinical and administrative documentation to payers.
- Track open requests, address missing information, and pursue updates on delayed, denied, or incomplete determinations.
- Serve as a point of contact for patients, providers, clinical teams, and insurance representatives regarding coverage status and next steps.
- Support billing operations by assisting with claim preparation, claim corrections, and appeal documentation when reimbursement issues arise.
- Investigate payment variances, denied claims, and other billing discrepancies to help resolve outstanding issues promptly.
- Maintain complete and accurate records in healthcare and billing platforms while following payer rules and organizational standards.
- Assist with reimbursement follow-up and accounts receivable activities to improve payment timeliness and claim resolution.
- At least 2 years of experience in prior authorizations, insurance verification, medical billing, or a closely related healthcare administrative role.
- Working knowledge of payer authorization processes, benefit verification, and claim follow-up procedures.
- Experience handling billing tasks such as claim review, denial support, payment research, or appeals coordination.
- Strong administrative skills, including scheduling, documentation management, and handling inbound communications professionally.
- Ability to work accurately in a fast-paced healthcare setting while managing multiple cases and deadlines.
- Familiarity with home health or broader healthcare services is preferred.
- Clear communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with patients, clinical staff, physicians, and insurance carriers.
