Akkodis is seeking a Network Security Engineer for a Contract with a client in Syracuse, NY. This role is responsible for managing and securing enterprise network infrastructure, including firewalls, routers, switches, and vulnerability management activities. Rate Range: $55/Hour to $60/Hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.
Network Security Engineer Responsibilities include:
- Manage and maintain enterprise-grade firewalls, including rule creation, policy reviews, and security hardening.
- Configure, monitor, and troubleshoot routing and switching infrastructure across multi-site network environments.
- Perform network vulnerability assessments, port scans, and remediation activities to strengthen security posture.
- Oversee centralized log management, monitoring, and alerting systems to support incident response and operational visibility.
- Maintain security patching, backups, and recovery processes for firewalls, routers, switches, and network appliances.
- Provide technical support for network infrastructure, participate in 24x7 on-call rotations, and support remote data center operations.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, Network Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
- 3+ years of experience in network security, network engineering, or infrastructure support roles.
- Hands-on experience with Firewalls, Routers, and Switches, including configuration, administration, and troubleshooting.
- Strong knowledge of routing, switching, TCP/IP, VPNs, DNS, DHCP, and network security best practices.

Pay Details: $55.00 to $60.00 per hour
