Packaged/SaaS Application Engineer

Akkodis is seeking a Packaged/SaaS Application Engineer for a Contract job with a client in Madison, WI (Remote). The ideal candidate will have strong experience in Power BI reporting, including data modeling and DAX development, along with MS SQL expertise and exposure to Databricks environments. Rate Range: $50/hour to $52/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Packaged/SaaS Application Engineer job responsibilities include:

• Design, develop, and maintain interactive Power BI dashboards, scorecards, semantic models, and paginated reports that support business intelligence and analytics initiatives.
• Build and optimize reporting solutions using enterprise data sources, including Azure Databricks, SQL Server, and modern cloud-based data platforms while ensuring data accuracy and performance.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, product owners, and data engineering teams to gather requirements, develop reporting solutions, and deliver actionable business insights through advanced DAX calculations and visualizations.
• Implement reporting best practices, including Row-Level Security (RLS), data governance standards, performance tuning, user acceptance testing, and AI-assisted productivity tools such as Microsoft Copilot and similar technologies.

Desired Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and professional experience.
• A minimum of three years of experience developing Power BI dashboards, reports, semantic models, and data visualizations in enterprise environments.
• Strong proficiency in Power BI data modeling, DAX development, and Microsoft SQL for data analysis, reporting, and validation activities.
• At least 1 year of experience working with Databricks or cloud-based data platforms and one year of experience utilizing AI-powered productivity tools to improve development efficiency and delivery quality.
• Experience with Power BI Service, dashboard deployment, scheduled refresh management, security administration, and reporting optimization techniques.
• Insurance industry experience, preferably within a Property and Casualty (P&C) insurance environment, is highly preferred.
• Knowledge of Power BI Paginated Reports, Microsoft Fabric, Lakehouse concepts, Azure DevOps, Git-based version control, and data governance best practices is considered a plus.

Pay Details: $50.00 to $52.00 per hour
