Volt is immediately hiring for a NDT Level II Inspector for an aerospace manufacturing company in El Cajon (San Diego), CA.
As a NDT Level II Inspector you will:
Job Description
- Day to Day Responsibilities
- Perform nondestructive testing utilizing Ultrasonic Testing (UT), Visual Testing (VT), and Penetrant Testing (PT) methods.
- Inspect tubing materials, welds, surface flaws, corrosion, and dimensional characteristics.
- Set up and operate ultrasonic immersion testing and other NDT equipment following approved procedures.
- Conduct visual and dimensional inspections of aerospace components and weldments.
- Evaluate test results against engineering specifications and quality standards.
- Prepare inspection reports, test documentation, and non-conformance reports.
- Maintain calibration and proper operation of inspection equipment and tools.
- Participate in quality audits and support Quality Management System requirements.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
This is a Full-Time Temp-to-Hire opportunity. Required Skills
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- NDT Level II Certification in accordance with SNT-TC-1A and/or NAS410.
- Certification in at least one of the following methods: UT, VT, or PT.
- Experience with ultrasonic immersion testing techniques.
- Knowledge of visual and dimensional inspection methods.
- Working knowledge of GD&T and engineering drawings.
- Ability to use dimensional measuring tools and inspection equipment.
- Basic computer proficiency for documentation and reporting.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow standard operating procedures.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
Preferred Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in aerospace manufacturing environments.
- Experience inspecting welds, tubing, and fabricated metal components.
- Experience generating quality and non-conformance reports.
- Previous participation in customer or quality audits.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and inspection troubleshooting skills.
Work Schedule: 1st Shift: Monday - Friday 5:00am-1:30pm (Schedule subject to change)
Pay: $33.00 - $45.00 per hour
- Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
